About.

I’m Mark Booth, collector, restorer and occasional potter. I’ve spent over 10 years foraging sales, fairs, markets and second-hand shops throughout the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India.

My passion is to seek out discarded 20th century treasures and refurbish or repurpose them into interesting, curious and unique ‘things’.  Incidentally, the name of my crafting enterprise is derived from my surname and my cherished ‘things’!

Whether it’s a clock, a word frame or a 3-D artwork piece, I love combining an array of media – wood, metal, ceramics, fabric and interesting artefacts - to create some ‘thing’ unique that will decorate and enhance your home or office. Wherever possible, I’ll share the story of its journey to boothings.com.

My online shop will launch in Spring 2025 and will feature a new range of garden and furniture ‘things’. In the meantime, I’ll feature anything new on Facebook and Instagram. Please follow me via the links in the header.

For the upcoming Holmebridge Christmas Rural Fair on Saturday 16 November, I’ll be showcasing a full range of ‘things’ including an array of Christmas trees crafted from an oak sideboard! Each one will be decorated with a variety of old items including: rope; brass clock parts; antique keys; sea glass; Victorian coins and vintage typewriter keys.

When I’m not in my workshop, you’ll find me walking in the hills and valleys with my wife Caroline, and my yellow lab, Mellow.

I hope that you’ll enjoy looking around.

Best wishes, Mark
